Transportation
  • Precise - high quality images yield fewer FBI rejections

  • Rugged - used worldwide in the harshest environments

  • Mobile - small and lightweight with full interoperability

  • Versatile - used for credentialing, visitor management, background checks, border checks, building access

  • Trusted - by major international airports and seaports and by DHS for US-VISIT

Since September 11 2001, there has been increasing legislation demanding the use of biometrics to enhance security. The TSA has mandated that all airports conduct background checks on employees with access to secure areas, such as the airplane, tarmac or baggage area. Cross Match has over 80 airport customers that have implemented our livescan systems in compliance.

"Computerized fingerprint capture systems, when used with the AAAE's store and forward system, are significantly expediting the process of submitting airport and air carrier employees' prints to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for background checks.”

Pat Osborne, Vice President of Information Systems at the American Association of Airport Executives.

With heightened security overall at airports, seaports and land ports, new programs are being evaluated and implemented to expedite the processing of travelers, workers and visitors at security checkpoints. In addition to the US-VISIT Increment I program, which utilizes Cross Match fingerprint scanners at 115 airports and 14 seaports, Cross Match is involved in the Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) program in Florida. The TWIC program is a pilot that utilizes our biometric access control reader and Credentialing took kit. The Port of Pensacola uses our TWIC compliant access control reader, while the Port of Palm Beach utilizes our VisTrak system and MV 100 mobile wireless device to track truck drivers entering the Port. The Port of Palm Beach along with other ports will implement the Cross Match TWIC access control readers.
