2008	Cross Match acquires the biometric authentication business of Labcal Technologies Inc., a Canadian based leader in providing ruggedized mobile and wireless biometric solutions for identification and authentication. Cross Match also acquires Labcal's SmartProfile single sign-on (SSO) business.
2007	L SCAN® Guardian becomes the first ID Flats scanner to meet the image quality requirements set forth by Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for EU border control and visa application programs such as VIS (Visa Information System).
2006	L SCAN® 100 becomes the first single finger scanner to meet the image quality requirements set forth by Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for the country’s e-passport program.
2006	Cross Match acquires C-VIS GmbH, expanding its biometric identity management portfolio.
2006	Cross Match releases L SCAN® Guardian livescan solution to meet the Challenge to the Industry put forth by a panel of multiple U.S. government agencies, detailing specific requirements for a small, fast and lightweight fingerprint scanner.
2005	Cross Match acquires Smiths Heimann Biometrics from Smiths Group plc giving Cross Match a leadership advantage in the global market for biometric identity management systems.
2004	Introduction of the D SCAN Authenticator series – RFID enabled, fully automated Passport reader and authentication system.
2004	Release of the L SCAN® 1000P – first ten-print and palm livescan system certified by the FBI for 1000 PPI resolution.
2004	Verifier is deployed in Dept. of Homeland Security’s US-VISIT border control program – first large-scale mainstream biometric implementation.
2003	Cross Match introduces its Multimodal Biometric Jump Kit for FBI and Army to use in Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay and Iraq.
2003	ID 500 portable livescan system launched – price and size of livescan solution reduced by 50%.
2002	Smiths Heimann Biometrics launched the rugged ACCO1394 single flat and rolled fingerprint scanner designed for demanding conditions.
2002	Heimann Biometric Systems acquired by Smiths Group plc and re-branded Smiths Heimann Biometrics.
2001	Heimann LITE scanner introduced first fully portable and super compact unit combined palm and ten-print scanner.
2000	England & Wales are first countries in Europe with palm print livescan system – National Automated Fingerprint Identification System “NAFIS” based prints from Heimann’s LS1/P+.
1999	Cross Match ID 1000® is first ten-print scanner to receive FBI’s “Appendix F” highest quality level certification.
1998	Cross Match introduces Verifier™ single finger scanner.
1997	Heimann Biometric Systems delivers fully integrated palm print/ten-print scanner – LS1/P – to Japanese NPA for the world's first nationwide livescan network.
1996	Heimann Biometric Systems of Jena, Germany enters the livescan market with an industry first palm scanner and received Japanese National Police Agency (NPA) certification.
