U.S. Federal Government
Selected by the United States Department of Defense, State Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation and others, Cross Match solutions are an integral part of many U.S. government identity verification programs. Employee background checks, building access control and criminal bookings are among the biometric applications in use today.
Federal agencies are enhancing national security through biometrics. Large-scale deployments, such as the US-VISIT immigration program, demonstrate the nation's leadership position in verifying visitors' identities through biometric data capture.
The Cross Match suite of products and services provides complete solutions for identification management anywhere - any time. The biometric systems are precise, rugged and mobile to capture and transmit fingerprints, photos and demographic data, which comply with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 for federal employee vetting and biometric credentialing.
National Government
National security is of the utmost importance for countries worldwide. Cross Match is helping to address those concerns by delivering world-class systems, software and services.
Cross Match systems are used in more than 80 countries for national government identity management applications, such as ID programs, border control and voting systems. Precision, portability and durability are hallmarks of Cross Match's products - making them an optimal choice for in-house and remote field use.
Law Enforcement
Cross Match systems expedite criminal checks and bookings, making law enforcement officials safer and more efficient.
Law enforcement agencies are quickly transitioning from traditional ink on paper fingerprinting to digital fingerprinting products and solutions such as the Cross Match Guardian, 1000T, 1000P, L SCAN 500P and the Be.U Mobile to save time and protect citizens from dangerous criminals. Depending on a law enforcement agency's needs, Cross Match has the appropriate fingerprint and palm print solutions.
Child Safety & Student Security
Cross Match systems identify and protect children and students nationwide.
School systems, child welfare agencies and law enforcement organizations are enhancing measures to identify, track and protect children and students.
The digital capture of children's fingerprints, as well as biometric-based background checks on employees, volunteers and caregivers that educate and work with children, is rapidly gaining acceptance--and helping to keep children safe.
Protecting students and personnel against unwanted campus visitors, Cross Match offers facial recognition and other identification management solutions. Optimized for use in educational settings from elementary schools to universities, the systems help school districts increase the accuracy with which they can detect people of interest entering school property.
Transportation
Since September 11 2001, there has been increasing legislation demanding the use of biometrics to enhance security. The TSA has mandated that all airports conduct background checks on employees with access to secure areas, such as the airplane, tarmac or baggage area. Cross Match has over 80 airport customers that have implemented our livescan systems in compliance.
With heightened security overall at airports, seaports and land ports, new programs are being evaluated and implemented to expedite the processing of travelers, workers and visitors at security checkpoints. In addition to the US-VISIT Increment I program, which utilizes Cross Match fingerprint scanners at 115 airports and 14 seaports, Cross Match is involved in the Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) program in Florida. The TWIC program is a pilot that utilizes our biometric access control reader. The Port of Pensacola uses our TWIC compliant access control reader, while the Port of Palm Beach utilizes our VisTrak system and mobile wireless device to track truck drivers entering the Port. The Port of Palm Beach along with other ports will implement the Cross Match TWIC access control readers.
Financial Services
Cross Match provides a variety of biometric security solutions for banks and investment firms. Currently we have over 100 financial institutions using our Cross Match products, solutions and services for background checking employees. With increasing legislation mandating accurate identification of employees and customers, financial firms are investing in biometric technology to enhance security. Cross Match offers 10-print livescan fingerprint systems that provide quick and accurate electronic background checks on employees. We also offer biometric solutions for physical access control and visitor management.
Regulations require financial institutions to conduct background checks to help avoid hiring an individual convicted of a dishonest act. The American Bankers Association (ABA), the Clearing House and the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) serve as channeling agencies to the FBI for banks and brokerage firms to process fingerprints electronically. Results are returned within a few minutes, hours or days depending on the channeling agency. Financial firms used to have to wait 4-8 weeks for national fingerprint background checks, or settle for database or local checks, which are not as complete.
Cross Match Technologies is helping banks and brokerage firms by providing FBI-approved fingerprint scanning products, such as our ID 500, and channeling agency integration. In addition, our Access Control Solutions and VisTrak visitor management solutions can also enhance over all bank security.
Hospitality & Gaming
Gaming organizations worldwide depend on Cross Match biometric scanning solutions to adhere to regulations and create safe environments for their guests and employees. By facilitating rapid and reliable background checks and facial identification results, biometric scanning systems enable casinos to maintain high operating standards.
Domestically, U.S. Indian gaming regulations stipulate that casinos perform background checks on potential employees, to avoid hiring individuals with criminal convictions. The majority of those casinos use Cross Match livescan systems to facilitate comparisons of applicants' fingerprints with those in the FBI criminal database. By automating the process, casinos can now complete the checks in just a few hours instead of the six to eight weeks the process took to complete manually.
Critical Infrastructure
Critical Infrastructure Protection is a nationwide program, with government operating in partnership with private industry. As set forth in the 2006 National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP), critical infrastructure includes the assets, systems, and networks, whether physical or virtual, so vital to the United States that their incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security, national economic security, public health or safety, or any combination thereof. Key resources are publicly or privately controlled resources essential to the minimal operations of the economy and government.
The nation's critical infrastructure has been conducting background checks on employees and contractors for quite some time. These federally mandated employee screenings include the submission of fingerprint data to regulatory agencies. Once received, the biometric information is analyzed against national databases, such as those maintained by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Cross Match's livescan systems enable rapid background checks through the electronic submission of digital fingerprints. Results are obtained in a matter of days, versus four to six weeks using manual processes. Additionally, fingerprint quality is enhanced and rejection rates are lowered using the biometric identity verification systems.
Healthcare
Healthcare organizations nationwide are turning to biometrics to enhance security. HIPAA-compliant records access, employee background checks, pharmacy access control and patient ID verification are examples of the security programs in use at healthcare facilities. Cross Match identity management systems are helping hospitals and medical institutions achieve their security and privacy goals - protecting patients, employees and visitors.
