The biometric verification of personal identity is a major governmental concern in border control and other environments. High security access control points also need convenient and reliable biometric identity checks. Many other applications also require live image verification from ID photos. High quality facial images captured by modern digital cameras are the best choice for accurate, non-intrusive, biometric solutions, in particular if user acceptance and convenience are important factors.

FaceCheck^® Verify combines intelligent ID photo capture with our industry leading face verification technology. A high resolution digital camera is used to produce portrait images that meet and exceed biometric quality standards. Both enrollment and verification use the same convenient imaging process.

For verification, the images of an enrolled user may be retrieved from a database or from a chip card. The verification process is fully automatic, optionally allowing visual monitoring by an operator and automatic image recording on all verification attempts.

Features:

• Users are automatically photographed with a high resolution digital camera using FaceSnap^®. The camera locates the face, crops and corrects the image for maximum biometric usability and user convenience.
  
• Utilizing modern digital cameras, the high resolution sensor and intelligent software control makes enrollment and verification a simple process – no need for repositioning of the camera for height or for changing capture settings to adapt to different individuals.
  
• Reference images can be retrieved from a pre-determined database of users, from a "biometric passport" or a chip card. FaceCheck Verify easily integrates into ID systems by using existing ID photos as the biometric reference data (must meet certain minimum quality standards).
  
• FaceCheck Verify measures the biometric similarity of two facial images and indicates a possible match or no match.
  
• As an option, process information can be presented to an operator. Verification results are intuitively displayed as "green" (OK), "yellow" (Not Sure), or "red" (No Match).
  
• FaceCheck Verify provides a record of high quality ID photos for all events or for selected specific events only.
